Immediately before serving, add the apples, hazelnuts and squash to the salad and toss to combine. Wash and dry the squash and put it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil
If you are by yourself, you could just scoop out a bit of the squash, spoon in a bit of the apples/onions, splash in a little bit of broth and boom - you've got your own bowl of soup
Butternut squash add a hint of sweetness which makes this stew all the more appealing. I do not think it is necessary to peel butternut squash as once cooked, it becomes soft and creamy
