Ingredients

  • Cabbage Rolls
  • Makes 12 rolls Total Prep & Cooking Time: 3 - 4 hours
  • 1 Savoy cabbage, whole
  • 500 grams lean ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, very finely minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, pressed
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 100 grams (1/2 cup) long grain rice (uncooked)
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon mushroom base (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons minced parsley
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (to finish)
