Baked feta cheese

  • 1 block of feta cheese
  • ½ cup diced tomato
  • 2 tablespoons chopped purple onion
  • 3 sprigs of fresh oregano
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Toast or crackers to serve


    Preheat oven to 200°C
    On a large sheet of aluminum foil add 1 tablespoon of olive oil
    Arrange half of the tomato cubes and onion
    place the entire block of feta cheese on top
    Add the rest of the tomato and red onion on top of the cheese block
    Cover with the rest of the oil
    Put the oregano sprigs on top
    Season with salt and pepper to taste
    Close the aluminum as an envelope leaving room for steam to circulate
    Place the envelope on a tray and bake for 30 minutes
    Open the envelope and place the block of cheese on a plate with the crackers and/or toast
