Ingredients

  • 1½ cups flour
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp. baking soda
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • ¾ cups sugar
  • ½ cup sour milk – (milk plus 1 tps Vinegar or lemon juice –
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup currants
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 25 minutes or until toothpick test comes out
