Anyway, this is a mild stew with pusinikkai or ash gourd/ winter melon and blackeyedpeas and the seasoning is done with coconut oil which gives a wonderful flavor to the dish
Instead of bottled Italian dressing, I made a quick vinaigrette as the base seasoning. As you may know, I’m from Mississippi, and back home we eat blackeyedpeas, greens, and cornbread on New Year’s Day
