This is the recipe that my Mom used and that her Mom used. The cookies come out perfect every time. You could use any shape cookie cutter you wanted, as long as the general shape was round. I like the scalloped edges the best.
For these Christmas SugarCookies we used a buttercream icing. Besides the buttercream icing we also used store bought icing to get that white as white and black as black color which is very hard or impossible with buttercream icing made at home
