Candy Cane Lane Cookies Save Print Prep time 15 mins Cook time 10 mins Total time 25 mins Author: Susan Recipe type: Dessert Serves: 3 dozen Ingredients 2 cups all purpose flour ½ teaspoon baking soda ½ teaspoon salt ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted 1 cup packed brown sugar ½ cup white sugar 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 1 egg 1 egg yolk ¼ cup sprinkles and nonpareils 2 cups assorted candies (M&M’s, Milky Way, white chocolate chips, green chocolate chips, crushed peppermint, sprinkles, etc.) Instructions Preheat the oven to 325°F. Line a baking sheet with a Silpat Non-Stick Baking Mat or parchment paper. Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. In a medium bowl, cream together the melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar until well blended. Beat in the vanilla, egg, and egg yolk until light and creamy. Mix in the sifted ingredients until just blended. Stir in the ¼ cup sprinkles and nonpareils by hand. Using a medium cookie scoop, drop a heaping amount of cookie dough onto the prepared cookie sheets. Cookies should be about 3 inches apart. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the edges are lightly toasted. Remove the cookies from the oven, and carefully place the assorted candies on top to decorate each cookie.
