  • Ingredients
  • 400 ml/14fl oz plain (wheat) flour
  • 400 ml/14fl oz caster sugar
  • 100 ml/3 1/2fl oz double cream
  • 100 ml/3 1/2fl oz dark syrup
  • 300 ml/10 1/2fl oz melted baking margarine
  • 400 ml/14fl oz oatmeal
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • Preparation method
  • Mix the wheat flour, caster sugar, oatmeal, baking powder and vanilla sugar together.
  • Then you add the syrup and double cream, and mix it together. Finally, you stir in the melted margarine.
  • Use 2 teaspoons to make small “lumps” which you then place on a baking tray.
  • Bake them in the oven for about 12-15 minutes, until they get “flat” and golden. Let them lie a while on the baking paper, so that they get crisp, before they are taken off.
