Halwa is an Arabic word meaning sweet/pudding and Gajar in Hindi means Carrot. Gajarkahalwa which is also known as gajrela is a popular dessert in most regions of India during winter months when the juicy red colored carrots are fresh in the market
CarrotHalwa in my opinion is the ultimate Indian dessert or sweet ever. The chewy, caramelized carrots slow cooked in an open vessel for almost an hour is a treat in itself not only to kids but to adults as well
