I’ve made it with fresh garlic and it doesn’t add enough punch to the bread as the dried version. I highly recommend you don’t skip any of the herbs listed here, including the healthy dose of granulated garlic (garlic powder)
I’m sure it would have been lovely but the garlic butter was fantastic brushed over the top of the rolls and I really didn’t feel anything was missing as I ate them
