Ingredients

  • To make the coconut custard pastry cream
  • 2 cups canned coconut milk
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups flaked, sweetened coconut
  • 1½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • To make the cream puffs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 stick butter
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  •  
  • For the chocolate ganache
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 package (12 ounces) semi-sweet morsels
  • Additional flaked coconut for garnish, optional
