  • 2 lb flank steak or chuck
  • ¼ medium white onion
  • 3 stalks green onion
  • 2 garlic cloves, whole
  • 8 cups (a little bit less than 2 liters) water
  • 1 beef bouillon (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ medium white onion, chopped
  • 2 stalks green onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 3 medium tomatoes, seedless, chopped
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp food coloring (Triguisar, Sazón Goya, Bijol)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
