Ingredients

  • 4 sprigs of fresh thyme
  • 8 sprigs of
  • 2 bay leafs
  • 2 T unsalted butter
  • 3 large leeks
  • 1/2 inch thick
  • 2 carrots peeled and diced
  • 2 celery stalks
  • 1/2 inch slices
  • 23 cup dry white wine
  • 2 T soy sauce
  • 4 cups low sodium chicken broth
  • 1/2 -3/4 cup pearl barley
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/4 of
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • salt and pepper
  • 10 minutes
  • 4 slices of
  • 1/2 inch pieces
