  • 4 strips dry lasagne - not precooked
  • vegetable oil for deep-frying
  • 1 egg white
  • 2/3 cup slivered almonds, lightly toasted
  • Confectioners' sugar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 tablespoon red wine
  • 4 fresh figs - 1 per person
  • 2 tablespoons kirsch
  • 4 oz almond macaroons
  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese
