Ingredients

  • 1 kilogram tender mutton, Cut into 3/4" cubes
  • 3 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cups grated fresh coconut
  • 1½ tbsp chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp kashmiri chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp coriander seeds
  • 1/2 tbsp cumin seeds / jeera
  • 20 black pepper
  • 18 - 20 cloves / lavang
  • 1 " piece cinnamon / dalchini
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • For the marinade
  • For the green masala paste
  • 1 cup coriander leaves, washed, chopped
  • 2 green chillies, washed, chopped
  • 5 - 6 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1/2 " ginger, washed, peeled, sliced
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds / jeera
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 lemon
  • For the tempering
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds / jeera
  • 4 - 5 cloves / lavang
  • 3 - 4 small pieces cinnamon / dalchini
  • 2 brown cardamoms
