Ingredients

  • 300 degree oven for 5 minutes I also found that a pastry bag is easiest but you could always use a plastic bag and snip off a corner. The gougeres don’t have to be perfect.
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 7 tbsp unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • A pinch of chile powder
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2/3 cup grated Gruyere, Cheddar or Parmesan
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped herbs, optional (parsley, basil or chives)
  • 4 eggs
