First roast the cumin seeds in a small saucepan/tawa over low heat and ground into a powder. I learnt it from one of the TV channel and have been following this recipe since then, very easy and tasty chutney

The firing spicy greenchutney in all chaats brings tears in to your ears where as the datestamarind sweet chutney masks off the spicy-ness with it’s natural sweetness
Place the sugar, dates and water in a saucepan over medium heat. Very carefully, pour the ingredients into a blender, clamp the lid down tight and blend until smooth (or blend in the pot with an immersion/stick blender)
Sweet chutney and greenchutney are must for any chaat recipes which elevates the taste of chaats. Unlike greenchutney this is bit time consuming, but you can make it more and keeps well upto a month
Obviously then the chutney was a natural choice to use up at least some of the dates. Add salt and chilli powder and once the salt dissolves, add the dates, tamarind and jaggery
colorful & appetizing. can also mix this Thokku with cooked rice to make delicious Thakkali / Tomato rice or can be used as spread over the bread and taken as Sandwich
More than in home I tasted bajjis lot out side the area where they serves with spicy,tangy chutney. With carom seeds,salt,red chili powder,chat masala grind into fine paste
I don`t have green chilies in hand,so,added chili powder,if you have chillies skip red chili powder. CATEGORY- VEGETARIAN/LUNCH/ANDHRACUISINE/SOUTH INDIAN
