Ingredients

  • 60 MINUTES
  • 1½ cups pure pumpkin puree (NOT pie filling)
  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/3 cup Black strap Molasses
  • 1 tsp real vanilla extract (not imitation)
  • 2½ cups spelt flour
  • 1/2 cup *arrowroot powder
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp freshly ground nutmeg
  • ½ tsp ground allspice
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves
  • ¼ tsp ground cardamom
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • {If you don't have all of these spices you can use pumpkin pie spice mix}
  • *2 apples, cut into small cubes
