  • 1 medium onion, finely minced using a food processor with a 1/4 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil (divided)
  • 1/4 cup water for mixing the dough
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2.5 teaspoons ground anise
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom
