Ingredients

  • 1 cup Kodomillet/Varagu arisi
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Curd
  • Salt
  • 1/4 cup Grated raw mangp
  • 1/4 cup Grated cucumber
  • 1/4 cup Grated carrot
  • 2 tbsp Chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Urad dal
  • 1/2 tsp Channadal
  • Few curry leaves
  • 1/4 tsp Asafoetida powder
  • 2 nos Green chillies
  • 1 tsp Grated ginger
  • 3 nos Dry red chillies
  • Pressure cook the millet upto three whistles, once the steam gets released, open the cooker and add immediately milk, curd,salt to it.
  • Mash them mildly, add now the grated mango,grated cucumber, grated carrot, chopped coriander leaves, give a stir,keep aside.
  • Heat oil,let splutter the mustard seeds, add the urad dal,channadal, asafoetida powder, dry red chillies and fry until the everything turns brown.
  • Add the slit opened green chillies, grated ginger, curry leaves, fry for few seconds.
  • Pour this tempering to the already prepared curd rice, mix well.
  • Serve immediately.
