Ingredients

  • ½ kg
  • Onion
  • 1 finely chopped
  • 1 finely chopped
  • Garlic cloves
  • 3 crushed
  • Red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder
  • ¼ tsp
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds
  • ½ tsp
  • Cumin seeds
  • ½ tsp
  • Urad dal
  • ½ tsp
  • Curry leaves
  • A pinch
  • 2 to 3 mins Now add the red chilli
  • ½ cup water, close the lid and cook the kovakkai in medium flame for
  • 8-10 min Open the lid in between and give a good stir to avoid burning
