Ingredients

  • 1 Bottle gourd (Lauki/ghiya)
  • 2-3 tbsp of gram flour (besan)
  • 1 tbsp of rice flour
  • 1 green chilli finely chopped (or to taste)
  • 1 tsp of ginger paste
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds powder
  • 1 tsp of dry mango powder (Amchur)
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala (or to taste)
  • salt to taste
  • 1-2 tbsp of finely chopped coriander
  • Oil for deep frying

  • For Curry
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp of cumin seeds (zeera)
  • 1 medium sized onion finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp of tomato paste (or 1 cup of tomato puree)
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds powder
  • 1 tbsp of tomato ketchup
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala (or to taste)
  • 1/4 cup of cream
  • salt to taste
  • few finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 2 tbsp of Oil for cooking
