In general burfi recipes like this one and this maida burfi makes a great gifting option. Usually Hubby buys gifts or sweet boxes for his colleagues but for both our close friends, it is always home made sweets

Maida Burfi. Diwali / Deepavali, is around the corner and it is time to start preparing the list for the sweets and snacks that we are going to make this year

Place maida in a big plate (thaambalam). This is an incredibly easy sweet to make, as the process involved is much similar to that of making puris, only thing is you just need to have more patience while deep frying these balls in order to get a perfectly cooked Baadusha
Besan/chickpea flour- 1. Foxtail millet Flour / Thianai flour - 50g (Optional. If not using add 50g of more Chickpea flour)Powdered sugar-1 cupGhee- 1/2 cup (melted)Cardamom powder- 1/4 tspCashew nuts,fried in ghee- 1 or 2 tbsp( optional). It will take about 10-12 mins
A tsp of maida mixed in little water to seal the pastry sheets. Recipe courtesy - Chef in you. Basically the recipe is very easy and I had fun making it
