  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
  • 2 green chilies, seeded and minced
  • handful or fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1- inch piece ginger, minced
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon asafetida, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt, or to taste
  • peanut oil or other oil for frying
