The recipe goes quite well with roti/chapati as well as rice…Mutton gravies are common in hyderabad and all across south india and it is used to make curries and is also used to make many rice delicacies and used to make kababs too…
Now about this muttonmasala, it is quite a simple dish, you can make it start from finish in pressure cooker, but i made it in a separate frying pan so you can look what is happening more clearly
But I admit I was not very confident when I chose MasalaMutton as my first attempt. I love mutton curry but I had no idea what is the name of the mutton curry that I have eaten at the Indian restaurant
Yummy MuttonMasala is ready. Mutton chukka Varuval is a very famous Chettinad Recipe that is served in almost all the Non Veg Restaurants in Tamil Nadu
Ingredients for MuttonMasala. Add the ground coconut paste and cooked mutton (along with its juice). Stir fry until the tomatoes and masala powders are cooked
Pressure cook till mutton is tender. Add the ginger, green chillies, yoghurt and the masala. the rice, mutton, fried onions, coriander leaves and tomato slices
Add this ground masala, lemon juice and salt to cleaned mutton pieces. Now the stuff that I hardly make, and what you have little or never seen in this space of mine, is mutton
Now add curry powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder and salt. In most of South Indian families, Sunday will start with hot idlies and mutton gravy
