Ingredients

  • 3 pounds nectarines
  • 1/2 cup apricot preserves -- slightly warmed
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed -- light/golden preferred
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 tablespoon potato starch -- or other thickener
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon -- or 1/2 tsp cardamom
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • Topping
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed -- light/golden preferred
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon -- or 3/4 tsp cardamom
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup almond paste -- crumbled
  • 6 tablespoons butter -- chilled and cut into small cubes
  • 1 1/2 cups sliced almonds
