  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) (226 grams) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 and ¼ cup (250grams) sugar
  • 4 Large Eggs, at room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoon ground spices (Please refer notes)
  • ½ cup chopped cashews
  • ½ cup raisins
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
  • TO PREPARE PLUM
  • 1 cup dried plum (approx 23)
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • FOR CARAMEL
  • ¼ cup (50 grams) sugar + 1 tablespoon water
  • ¼ cup warm water to add later
