Ingredients

  • 1 cup wine - for the cook
  • Basic pasta recipe, doubled
  • 6 ounces of Prosciutto, Serrano or Black Forrest Ham
  • 6 ounces of Gruyere or other good quality Swiss cheese, sliced very thin
  • Classic Béchamel sauce recipe, prepared
  • 2-3 slices of Prosciutto, Serrano or bacon cooked crisp and chopped
  • 1/4 cup Mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • Basil leaves (optional)
  • Classic Béchamel
  • Makes 3 cups
  • 1 cup wine – for the cook
  • 5 Tablespoons butter
  • 4 Tablespoons flour
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
