Ingredients

  • 12 muffins
  • For the Muffin Batter
  • 1 C white whole wheat flour
  • 1 C all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 C sugar
  • 1/4 C sugar substitute
  • 1/4 C butter, softened
  • 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 C low-fat buttermilk
  • For the Swirl
  • 1/4 C brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 C almonds, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/4 C natural raspberry preserves
