  • 4 strips bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 cup hazelnuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon rubbed sage
  • 1 onion
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground chipotle chili pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
