I’ve always wanted to make a slow roasted pork shoulder ever since coming across a recipe for this in my first ever proper cookbook – Jamie Oliver’s ‘Cook with Jamie
Pour over the pork and cover the slow cooker with the lid. Spread the chopped onion evenly over the bottom of the slow cooker and top with the bay leaf
And I firmly believe that the only way to caramelize pulledporkwithout compromising the incredible moisture that you get from slowcooked meats is to pan fry it
So that's what I did with her recipe for Kalua Pork and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. With a name like Plain Chicken, you expect that that would be all she makes
Top withcoleslaw and serve with remaining barbecue sauce and cole slaw on the side. I promise that a delicious pulledpork recipe will follow without any rantings from a vegetarian
Then you have the protein, pulledpork and then you have the little fact that I cooked it in the crock pot which just adds two more words onto that incredibly long list
You’ll rub your pork down with the marinade and spice rub and cook it in the oven low and slow. To make my cookout feast complete I served all the classic sides – corn on the cob, baked potatoes, baked beans and coleslaw
I added provolone cheese to the buns and then broiled them, because everything is better with cheese, and then topped the pulledporkwith light coleslaw which adds the perfect crunch to the Sloppy Joes, and makes them even sloppier
Once the pork is cooked, it should shred apart easily with a fork. Traditionally made withpork rubbed in Achiote paste, marinated in Seville orange juice and wrapped in banana leaves, I have adapted the recipe for the more Northern home kitchen
Serve on buns topped withcoleslaw. Season the pork shoulder well with salt and pepper. Press the ears into the sides of the sherbet and decorate with the eyes, nose, and mouth
I used pork shoulder steaks which I cut into cubes and dry fried in a large pan with sliced onions. At this point add a small tin of pineapple chunks with the juice and sliced peppers
