  • 1 cross rib roast (about 4 lbs)
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 1 large onion , sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic , sliced
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch (you may not use all of it)
