The first thing that came into my mind was this Greek savory pastry, Spanakopita. It's basically a spinach filled pastry and it's made like a pie or triangles ( like samosas )
GREEK MINCE & SPINACH PIE. Half meat, half spinach. For the Spinach filling. Stir in spinach mixture. Spread spinach - cheese mixture on one side and mince mixture to the other side of the pan and fold overhanging dough over filling
Wring the spinach dry and put in a large bowl. Add the spinach, artichokes, 1/2 teaspoon salt and1/4 teaspoon pepper and stir to combine. 10 ounces frozen chopped spinach, thawed
As you can see from the photos, I will not be sharing a recipe for baklava with you, but rather a really great spanakopita one that I luckily stumbled upon in my search to use up extra phyllo
The chicken is very succulent as it soaking in the Greek marinade for hours, and the bites of the crispy potatoes topped with feta, onion and spinach will blow your palate away
In the end it doesn't matter so much what this recipe is called as long as it is delicious. Right now I need all the quick recipes I can get – June and July have been mega busy and super stressful months and my diet has not been the best
In large bowl, combine spinach and onions with ricotta, egg, seasoning, and zest. Top with half of the pasta, half of the spinach mixture and half of the remaining sauce
Place zucchini in a bowl. Scatter with 1tsp salt and toss to combine then set aside for 30 minutes. Rinse under running water, then drain well and pat completely dry with paper towels
Although similar to the Greek Spanakopita, this recipe is very famous in the Albanian region. We often went to a Middle Eastern restaurant where they serve the spinach pies also known by the name Spanakopita
