  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • ⅔ cup soft shortening (I substituted unsalted butter)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter, room temperature
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
  • ¾ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ⅓ cup heavy cream
