Almost everyweek some form of rava/ semolina is used to make either rava khichdi, regular upma/uppitu or this popular version Masala upma which seems to be popular in Bangalore and some southern cities
I have cooked the mutton pieces to tender and then coated it in the masala/ thick paste and added the ground spices to give it that heated edge and flavour
I served this spicy curry with roti and i had some leftover the next day which i served with aapam. Now add in the masala paste along with ginger garlic paste and saute this till the oil separates on top
You can also marinate some masalaswith the mutton pieces before cooking. If ur vessel is heavy bottomed never mind, else u can use a pan/skillet as u see below
It is a hot (cayenne pepper hot) spicy dish. All purpose flour paste which is important in the recipe gives a thick look to the dish and tastes hot because of nihari masala powder which contains pepper corns mainly
