Ingredients

  • 5 Anaheim peppers
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 pound kielbasa sausage, sliced 1/4 inch thick
  • 1 sweet yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 thyme sprigs
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • coarse salt and cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 3 cups clam juice or fish stock
  • 1 1/2 pounds unpeeled potatoes (we used a combination of red, white and purple)
  • 4 tomatoes, halved, seeded and chopped
  • 1 pound Manila or littleneck clams, scrubbed (or whatever variety is available
  • 2 pounds cod fillets, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 pound mussels, scrubbed and debearded
  • 1/2 cup cream or half n half
  • chopped parsley, for garnish
  • lemon wedges, for garnish
  • crusty bread, for serving
