Ingredients

  • Makes about 18 biscuits
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons (packed) light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 stick (6 tablespoons) cold unsalted butter, cut into 12 pieces
  • 2 15- ounce cans sweet potatoes in light syrup, drained and mashed
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon or freshly grated nutmeg (optional)
