Majjiga Saaru, buttermilk infused rasam is usually served with rice. Whenever I'm feeling bored of cooking or in lack of time to cook, my first preference would be this rasam
Except for Lemon rasam and Ginger rasam I use tamarind. Last time my helper had swollen legs and she visited an Ayurvedic doctor and he suggested to have food without tamarind she got this recipe from her mum
Eggs - 5Onion - 1 (chopped)Green chilli - 1 ( chopped)Ginger Garlic paste - 1 tspTamarind juice- 1floz / 25 mlWater - 3/4 to 1 cup, as required Sugar - 1/2 tspSalt - To tasteCilantro - For GarnishingMasala powder. Add tamarind extract along with 1 cup of water and bring to boil
In a bowl take Tomato, Tamarind paste, Turmeric powder, Salt & mash well with your hand. Heat oil in a pan & add seasoning ingredients to splutter and pour over Rasam mixture
Allow to boil nicely and at this stage add rasam powder and coriander leaves. Rasam Powder -1 tsp. Tamarind - 1 inch size. Now add required water till you get rasam consistency (say about 3 cups of water)
Once I get home from work, I only need to deep fry the chicken and drizzle them with the pre-made tamarind sauce, then prepare a quick and easy vegetable soup to go with it
