Ingredients

  • Pie crust, optional (I don't use ~ I prefer crustless)
  • 12 cups apples, peeled and sliced thinly
  • 12 cups fresh cranberries, rinsed
  • 1 ⅔ cups sugar
  • 11 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 11½ Tbsp flour
  • 1 FOR TOPPING~
  • 1½ cup flour
  • 1½ cup sugar
  • 1½ tsp cinnamon
  • 14 Tbsp butter sliced and dicedPreheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • 1 In a large bowl, combine apple slices, cranberries, sugar, lemon juice and flour.
  • 1 In a separate bowl, combine topping ingredients flour, sugar, cinnamon and butter by hand till mixture is crumbly and butter is well dispersed. Set aside for later.
  • 1 In a pyrex pie pan, add cranberry apple mixture. (if using crust follow crust directions first)
  • 1 Bake pie for 30 minutes.
  • 1 Lower oven temperature to 375 degrees.
  • 1 Remove pie and add crumb topping.
  • 1 Bake pie for an additional 25-30 minutes or until top is golden and filling is thickened.
