Kuttu loves pongal and so these days i make only millet pongal and not the regular rice one. Venpongal, most famous south-indian breakfast, made even more healthy with this humble but something to the level ofsuperfood VaraguArisi/KodoMillet
I have already posted an idli recipe with Kambu/PearlMillets, there I have used parboiled rice along with the pearl millet to make the idlis, But for these Varagu Arisi Idlis, I have used only varaguarisi/kodomillet along with urad dal/black gram and fenugreek seeds
I have tried this with both Kodomillet (Varagu) / Barnyard millet (Kuthiraivali). I find this Kanji gives good alternate option for breakfast / brunch from bread, oats etc
The theme that I have chosen for the first week is Diabetic / healthy recipes. Diabetics prefer to use less rice and in this recipe millet is used instead of rice
