  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 lb unsalted butter (cold, 1/2-inch dice)
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons ice water
  • Pan coating
  • Filling
  • 1 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 lb unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (6 oz.) package semisweet chocolate chips
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup dark Creme de Cocoa (a chocolate flavored liqueur with hints of vanilla)
  • 12 ounces walnuts, roughly chopped
  • whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (for serving)
