Ingredients

  • 1 large avocado, peeled, pitted and diced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup minced yellow onions
  • 2 medium firm-ripe tomatoes, seeded and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • 2 malaguetas, stemmed, seeded and minced (wear rubber gloves)*
  • 1/2 teaspoon Emeril's Original Essence, recipe follows
  • 2 (14-ounce) cans hearts of palm, rinsed, drained, and dried on paper towels
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons paprika
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon dried leaf oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
