This is an easy tomake tiffin sambar which does not require any pressure cooking process. Add a cup of water on to the ground masala and mix well tomake a paste (to avoid forming lumps in curry as the masala has dhal in it)
While my mom used tomakeSambar for lunch, it was usually the regular version using Okra. Using a pressure cooker you can easily make this dish in a very short time and it would be the perfect dish to pack in a lunch box as well
Rinse rice, dhal and add them to the veggies. Add sambar powder, turmeric powder, coconut and salt. Oi l - 1 tbspnMustard Seeds - 1 tspFenugreek Seeds - 1/2 tspCurry leaves - a fewGinger grated - 1 tspSalt - as per tasteHing - 1/4 tspTurmeric powder - 1/4 tspTamarind - small lime size ballThur dhal - 1/3 cupRice - 2/3 cupSambar Powder - 2 tbspnsCoconut grated - 2 tbspnsGhee - 2 tbspnsCoriander leaves - chopped, to garnishVeggies (any veggies of your choice) Onion Sliced - 1/2 cupCarrot - 1, choppedBrinjal - 2, choppedPeas - a handfulCapsicum - 1 small, choppedTomato - 1, choppedMethod. Extract 2 cups of tamarind water and add it to the veggies. You may soak thur dhal in warm water for 30 minutes before pressure cooking just tomake sure it is fully cooked
