Well, it’s an excuse to use the new ice cream maker I bought myself last week. No strawberry, raspberry, blueberry cheesecakes…Heck, more often than not, I don’t even like chocolate or candy attached to my cheesecake
All is not lost, however, as it turns out a thin coat of chocolate can protect the Pop Rock (or other mix-ins that fall apart or get soggy in ice cream) from the liquid around it, allowing it to stay a pristine, unpopped crystal until it meets someone's mouth

As I mentioned above, this was also the first time I made “real” ice cream at home, and I have to say I was surprised – surprised by how easy the recipe was to put together, surprised by how easy the ice cream maker was to use, and surprised by just how good the ice cream tasted
If you like larger pieces of strawberry in your ice cream (as opposed to just the strawberry puree) , feel free to chop up a few extras into small pieces (I wouldn’t make any of them larger than your pinky nail) and fold them in just before you pour your ice cream into the pan to freeze
