The SalmonMentai Dragon Maki. At first I thought of picking something up from the McDonald's drive through near home but then I suddenly remembered Sushi Mentai@Taman Megah
While waiting for the rest to arrive, we nibble of the Fried Chicken Skin and Fried Salmon Skin. Flaky flesh inside goes well with the mentai though I certainly wouldn't mind having a little more mentai in a bowl for us to dip into it
The sauce that was doused over the seafood wasn’t overpowering so I could still taste the sweetness of the salmon, tuna, octopus and ikura (salmon roe) and the light fragrance of the spring onions
I have been wanting to try mentai and I highly anticipated this SalmonMentai Maki. Perhaps I wasn't paying attention (too focused on the mentai) but I generally enjoy maki and I would give this one another chance
The SalmonMentai ($6) a slice of salmon coated with a layer of creamy cod roe and baked till a caramelized char on rolled sushi rice is great for newbies who are a little averse to the idea of raw fish. The Salmon Shio ($10), a thick fleshy piece of grilled salmon seasoned simply with salt, was done well, moist with delectably crisp skin. The Dobinmushi ($6) a clear broth flavoured with a whole salmon, crab leg and sweetened with vegetables served in a teeny tea pot, was delicate but sweet
