More or less following the online recipe (I used baking powder instead of baking soda, which didn't seem to really affect anything) which is itself a glorious product of the wonderful folks at America's Test Kitchen, my resulting dough was a beautiful brown and shiny concoction, browned because of the browned butter and the dark brown sugar
