Yakiniku don a dish popularized by the fast food chain Yoshinoya, it is made out of pan grilled beef served in a sauce made out soy sauce mixed with sake, mirin, sugar, garlic, fruit juice and sesame oil served with vegetables topped in a bowl of rice
First, there are many types of donburi, a giant bowl of rice covered in toppings ranging from soy sauce-simmered beef (gyu-don)– which you may know from the restaurant chains Matsuya or Yoshinoya– to deep-fried breaded pork cutlet (katsu-don), or slices of raw tuna (tekka-don)
I love their beef&ebi bowl but if you are super hardcore and want to eat absolutely clean, Yoshinoya offers a 'healthy' set meal that includes a teriyaki chicken & veg bowl with corn and plain water on the side
My first experience with teriyaki was at Yoshinoya in Beijing. I love their teriyaki chicken bowl and it’s still one of my favorite choices for a quick lunch
Put the beef and vegetable topping on the top of rice. Serve hot steamed rice in a deep rice bowl. When water is at a boil, add contents of package of vegetables as well as 1/4 head of cabbage. When vegetables are almost done, (4-5 minutes), drain them. Add beef and drained vegetables into the saucepan and simmer for 5 minutes
